We Are Accepting Open Submissions!
What are open submissions? Please, read the entire following instructions before you submit.
We, the Progressives of Kane County, have decided to accept essays from it’s members and well wishers. In the past year progressives have had their work cut out for them. We have protested, organized, and lost sleep over the whirlwind of events that have occurred since 45 became president. We want to hear your story and your struggle trying to make progressive ideals a reality in Kane County and throughout Illinois.
Please read the guidelines for the submission process.
- We may revise and edit your work. We check for the grammatical errors and try to help stay on track so your essay is a cogent work that comes to a point.
- Please write about timely events. For example, if you decided to write about Eisenhower’s faulty trade policy with Sweden, sadly, there’s a good chance we won’t publish that essay. Writing about your struggle with the current healthcare system and how you could be negatively affected if the anti-abortion laws are passed will have a much better chance of being published.
- We are asking for for experiences and your opinions, but your opinions must be backed in facts. Calling the current president names or saying he’s refuge from a mad scientist’s lab trying to give Cheetos sentience is fun but we would rather hear a fact based argument concerning his policies or the way he’s been running the government.
- If you are writing about other people close to you please get their permission before you start writing. When in doubt use a moniker.
Unfortunately, if you summit to us and it’s clear that you haven’t read the guideline, your essay will be rejected. So please check with us if you are unsure about your submission.
Please submit all essays to progressivesofkane@gmail.com and include “Open Submissions” in the subject line.
